Insight Experience has been working with leaders and helping them accelerate their development for over 10 years. In our past lives, many of us have held operating roles, been consultants and led teams and functions in a variety of industries.
From this diverse experience base, we share one common observation: this leadership stuff is tough to do. Leading organizations of any size takes energy, smarts and heart. Sustaining performance from a diverse team can be extraordinarily rewarding and extraordinarily draining.
At our foundation, we believe that leadership is integrative. Leadership is about the “and.” Great leaders integrate strategic perspective and technical know-how. In the words of Rosabeth Moss Kanter, they can “zoom- in and zoom-out.”
Great leaders integrate business acumen and interpersonal skills. They can articulate a powerful strategic direction and communicate it to their teams and engage their organizations.
Great leaders are great listeners and are willing to make tough calls. Great leaders know they don’t have all the answers and they exude confidence and optimism that their team can deliver results.
This blog is a forum for the team at Insight Experience to share our observations, learnings, and ideas from our work. Our hope is to ignite interesting dialogue and spur insight from our community.
